    Cuckkoo-Clock with Dancing Figurines


    For many generations now, the Black Forest in Germany has been known for its traditional craft - the production of high quality cuckoo-clocks. The special thing about them is, of course, the funny cuckoo that shows up every half hour.

    This clock is the home of a very busy cuckoo, that pops out of its clock every half hour for one call and every full hour with the number of call according to the time, accompanied by a spring which is struck to give the typical sound. But there is even more: Every half hour, four little figurines start dancing and twirling to two different tunes, after the the cuckoo has told you the time. For an undisturbed night, there is a small lever attached, which silences the inhabitants of the clock.

    The beautifully crafted wooden clock itself has a height of 13.4", a breadth of 9" and a depth of 5.9". To this, another approx. 70" are needed for the two decorative metal pine-cones that hang from golden chains under the clock and make the clockwork tick. The centre of pendulum of the clock can be adjusted, so that it always swings in the right rhythm. An easily understandable manual is included, of course. Altogether, the cuckoo-clock weighs about 2.3 kg.
